Product questions
-
Can I import variable products with their variations?
Yes. Variations are exported as their own rows and linked to the parent through the parent SKU. They import back with attributes, stock and pricing intact. Keep the parent row in the file and match the SKU exactly.
-
Will importing overwrite my existing products?
A product whose ID or SKU matches an existing record is updated, not duplicated. A popup reminds you to back up before the import runs. Pro adds rules for skipping, updating or creating new.
-
How are product images imported?
Images travel as URLs. Each URL has to be publicly reachable and your host must allow outbound requests. For a big catalog, import the data first and add images in a second pass.
-
Is there a limit on the number of products?
No hard limit. Jobs run in batches, and you can set the batch size in Settings to balance speed against server load.
-
Can I import categories with their parents?
Yes. Parent categories are resolved by name or slug, and descriptions, thumbnails, display type and term meta come along.
