SmartStore moves data in and out of WooCommerce. Export what is already in your store to a file, edit it in Excel or Google Sheets, and import it back. Pull a supplier feed from a URL or an FTP server on a schedule, or copy an entire store into a single bundle and restore it elsewhere.
Free and premium: which is which #
The plugin exists in two forms, and the difference matters for almost everything in this documentation.
Free: three plugins on WordPress.org #
The free version is split into three focused plugins. Install whichever ones match the data you work with.
| Plugin | Covers |
|---|---|
| Dazzlebirds Products Import Export | Products, product reviews, product categories, product tags |
| Dazzlebirds Orders Import Export | Orders and coupons |
| Dazzlebirds Users Import Export | Customers and WordPress users, all roles |
All three add a WC Data Manager entry to your admin menu. Each does full CSV import and export, updates records that already exist, maps columns, saves reusable templates, processes in batches, and keeps a history log.
Premium: one plugin #
SmartStore Import Export for WooCommerce covers all seven data types in a single plugin, under a SmartStore Import Export menu entry. It adds Excel, XML and TSV files, Google Sheets, scheduled jobs, FTP and SFTP sources, bundle operations, rollback, background import, and ACF and custom meta field mapping.
Articles covering premium-only features are marked at the top.
The seven data types #
| Module | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Products | Product data, pricing, stock, images, attributes, variations |
| Orders | Order details, line items, status, customer mapping, refunds, notes |
| Customers | Customer profiles and WordPress user accounts |
| Coupons | Coupon codes, usage limits, discount rules |
| Product Reviews | Reviews, ratings, and review metadata |
| Product Categories | Categories and their parent/child hierarchy |
| Product Tags | Tags and their product associations |
In premium, an eighth option called Bundle handles all seven at once.
What people use it for #
- Bulk edits. Export 5,000 products, change prices in Excel, import the file back.
- Store migration. Move a whole catalog from one site to another.
- Supplier feeds. Point a scheduled job at a supplier CSV so stock updates overnight. Premium.
- Accounting and reporting. Export orders monthly for your accountant or ERP.
- Backups before a change. Export first, so you can restore if something goes wrong.
Technical notes #
Both free and premium work with legacy WooCommerce order storage and HPOS, detecting which your store uses and writing to the correct tables. Large files are processed in batches so PHP timeouts do not stop an import halfway through.
In premium you can close the browser and the import keeps running. On the free plugins the tab needs to stay open.
