Does this need WooCommerce? #
Yes. WooCommerce 5.0 or later must be installed and active.
What is the difference between the free and premium versions? #
The free version is three separate plugins on WordPress.org, split by data type: Products (products, reviews, categories, tags), Orders (orders and coupons), and Users (customers and WordPress users).
Each does full CSV import and export, updates existing records, maps columns, saves templates, batches large files, and logs history. Premium is one plugin covering everything, and adds Excel, XML and TSV, Google Sheets, scheduling, FTP and SFTP, bundle operations, rollback, background import, and ACF field mapping.
Can the free version update records that already exist? #
Yes. A record matching by ID, SKU, or email address is updated. A confirmation popup reminds you to back up first. Premium adds control over how duplicates are handled.
Which file formats can I use? #
Free handles CSV, with a selectable delimiter: comma, semicolon, tab, pipe, or custom. Premium adds XLSX, XML, TSV, Google Sheets, and ZIP for bundles.
Is there a row limit? #
No. Files are processed in batches so they do not hit PHP timeouts, and the batch size is yours to tune. This applies to both versions.
Can I close the browser during an import? #
In premium, yes. Background import continues after you navigate away. On the free plugins, keep the tab open until the run finishes.
Does it work with HPOS? #
Yes, in both versions. The plugin detects whether your store uses High Performance Order Storage and writes to the correct tables.
Will customers get emails when I import old orders? #
No. WooCommerce transactional emails are suspended for the duration of an order import.
Can I move a whole store to a new site? #
In premium, export a bundle and import that ZIP on the new store. With the free plugins, export each data type separately and import them in order: categories and tags, then products, then customers, then orders, then coupons and reviews.
Can I undo an import? #
Rollback is premium only, and works once per import when the run completed cleanly. On the free plugins, take a database backup before importing.
Which user roles can be imported? #
Any WordPress role, including administrator, editor, author, subscriber, customer, shop manager, and custom roles. The Users plugin is not limited to WooCommerce customers.
Where do my files go? #
Exports to wp-content/uploads/ssie-exports/, imports to wp-content/uploads/ssie-imports/.
Who can use the plugin? #
Anyone with the manage_woocommerce capability, which covers administrators and shop managers.
Can I import product variations? #
Yes, in both versions. Include the parent SKU column and keep parent and variation rows in the same file.
Does it import custom fields from other plugins? #
Custom and hidden meta can be included when exporting in both versions. ACF and advanced custom field mapping on import is premium.
Can I run all three free plugins at once? #
Yes. They are designed to coexist and share the same WC Data Manager menu.
How do I get help? #
Free plugins have a support forum on their WordPress.org listing. Premium includes a support form under Settings.
